Young and untested, that is how you can describe the Eastern Montgomery cross country team, as they prepare for the upcoming Three Rivers District season.

The Mustangs, who finished fifth last fall, will sport a roster which includes sophomore Seth Linkous, senior Mark Blankenship, sophomore Kyle Hutchings, sophomore Jordan Visunwski, freshman Todd Saunders and junior Nikki Cerva, who was an all-district runner in her freshman and sophomore year.

"We are very young and untested," said coach Marvin Ballard. "We're also thin with respect to personnel."

The coach further stated that ,"Cerva should again be in the Top 10 in our district."

Eastern Montgomery opens its 2010 season this Wednesday, Aug. 25, with a home meet against Roanoke Catholic and Floyd County starting at 5 p.m.
