Eastern Montgomey had three different players score in double digits, as the Mustangs ran away with a 64-51 Three Rivers District boys basketball win over Glenvar Thursday night in Elliston. It was the district opener for both teams.
The Mustangs (4-0, 1-0 TRD) would take a 29-17 lead at the half. The Highlanders (4-4, 0-1 TRD) outscored East Mont 22-13 in the third quarter to pull to within three, 42-39, heading into the pivotal fourth quarter. The Mustangs went on a 22-12 run in the final quarter, as they pulled away for the victory.
Nick Trinchere led Glenvar with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Ben King and Scotty Nicewonder both finished with 12 points each.
Julian Stewart led East Mont with a game-high 23 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Brad Wooten had 15 points and Shawn Christian finished with 13 points.
