Despite not scoring a single point in the opening quarter, Eastern Montgomery managed to pull out a 52-43 non-district girls basketball win over Craig County Tuesday night in Elliston.

The Rockets (0-2) blasted out to a 16-0 lead after the initial quarter. The Mustangs (2-1) finally found the net in the second quarter, as they pulled to within nine, 26-17, at the break. East Mont outscored Craig County 35-17  in the second half to claim the victory.

Millie Hutton led Craig County with a game-high 19 points and Jordyn Frango tossed in 12 points.

Casey Smith led East Mont with 15 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Hilliary Wilson finished with 13 points.
