Cold shooting led to Eastern Montgomery's downfall, as Holston claimed a 52-43 non-district girl's basketball win Saturday afternoon in Elliston.

The Mustang (2-4), who trailed 19-18 after the opening quarter, continued to see the Cavaliers (2-2) pull away for a 33-27 halftime lead. Holston outscored East Mont 13-8 in the third quarter, as they continued to hold the upper-hand in earning the nine-point road win.

Taylor Doss led Holston with a game-high 23 points.

Casey Smith paced East Mont with nine points.
