Trailing by eight going into the final quarter, Eastern Montgomery got hot and pulled out a 65-56 non-district boy's basketball win over Holston Saturday night in Elliston.
The Cavaliers rode out to a 16-12 lead after the initial quarter and increased their advantage to 34-26 at the break. Both teams traded basket-for basket in the third quarter, as Holston headed into the fourth quarter with a 37-29 lead. East Mont finally found their shooting touch, outscoring Holston 26-9, to claim the win.
Seth Davenport led Holston with 18 points and Tyler Smith chipped in with 16 points.
J.T. Shrader led East Mont with a game-high 27 points, including five 3-pointers. James Fields tossed in 12 points and Ron Ford finished with 10 points.
