Bland County broke loose in the third quarter, as they pulled away for a 50-34 non-district girl's basketball win over Eastern Montgomery Monday night in Elliston.

The Mustangs (2-5), who led 21-19 at the half, saw the Bears (2-2) go on a 23-4 run in the third quarter to pull out to a 42-25 going into the fourth quarter. Bland continued to control the tempo in the final quarter in earning the 16-point road victory.

Paige Brinkley led Bland County with 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Jessie Blessing contributed 10 points.

Hilary Wilson paced East Mont with 10 points.
