Caleb Tanner scored a game-high 30 points in helping lead Floyd County to an 84-70 Three Rivers District boys basketball win over Auburn Friday night in Riner.
The Eagles (5-9, 0-3 TRD) staked out to a 15-12 lead after the first quarter. The Buffaloes (14-1, 4-0 TRD) answered with a 24-16 run in the second quarter to take a 36-31 halftime lead. Floyd County outscored Auburn 20-13 in the third quarter and 28-26 in the fourth quarter to pull away for the 14-point road win.
In addition to Tanner's 30 points, Brandon Lemons scored 21 points, while Preston Neukirch chipped in with 17 points.
Jessie Rutledge led Auburn with 26 points. Jake Shelburne tossed in 21 points and Tanner Keen added 15 points.
