Floyd County scored more points in the first quarter than Eastern Montgomery did the entire game, as the Buffaloes ran away with an 88-16 Three Rivers District win Tuesday night in Floyd.
The Buffaloes (18-1, 7-0 TRD) roamed out to 24-0 lead after the opening quarter and extended their advantage to a commanding 48-5 halftime lead. Floyd County went on to outscore the Mustangs (2-16, 0-7 TRD) 40-11 in the second half to claim the easy 72-point win.
Dakota Shepherd led East Mont with six points.
Krista Cox and Aimee Royal led Floyd County with 12 points each. Amanda Hollandsworth and Christine Phillips added 11 points each, while Maria Kuchenbuch finished with 10 points.
