Floyd County placed four players in double-figures, as the Buffaloes earned a 76-68 Three Rivers District boys' basketball win over Auburn Wednesday night in Floyd.
The Buffaloes (17-3, 7-2 TRD) staked out to a 21-9 lead after the first quarter and increased their advantage to 39-23 halftime lead. The Eagles (8-12, 2-6 TRD) outscored their hosts 18-15 in the third quarter and 27-22 in the fourth quarter to cut their final deficit to eight, 76-68.
Jessie Rutledge paced Auburn with a game-high 22 points. Marshall Jones had 17 points and Jake Shelburne finished with 14 points.
Caleb Tanner led Floyd County with 22 points and seven assists. Brandon Lemons chipped in with 22 points and 14 rebounds, Danny Velasquez scored 12 points and snared 14 rebounds, while Preston Neukirch added 11 points.
