Giles scored early and often, as the Spartans cruised to a 56-14 Three Rivers District football win over Auburn Friday night in Pearisburg.
Touchdown runs of 71, 25 and 16 yards by Ian Mann gave the Spartans (5-1, 1-0 TRD) a 21-0 lead after the initial quarter.
A 29-yard run by Dusty Boggess, a safety by Hunter Mathias, a 14-yard scamper by Boggess, and an 8-yard jaunt by Tyler Perdue upped the Giles advantage to 44-0 at the half.
In the third quarter, a 9-yard run by Perdue increased the Spartans lead to 50-0. The Eagles (0-6, 0-1 TRD) finally scored when Justin Craft galloped 58 yards and Vlodamir Phillips PAT made it 50-7.
A 1-yard plunge by Mann gave Giles a 56-7 lead. A 3-yard run by Craft and Phillips PAT made the final 56-14.
Justin Craft led Auburn with 120 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles recorded 176 yards of total offense.
Ian Mann led Giles with 127 yards rushing and three touchdowns. The Spartans posted 392 yards of total offense.
