Lyndsey Jackson became the first girls' basketball player at Giles ever to reach 1,000 career points, as the Spartans cruised to a 63-35 Three Rivers District girls basketball win over Auburn Tuesday night in Pearisburg.
The Spartans (5-8, 2-2 TRD) jumped out to a 33-17 halftime lead. Things didn't get any better for the Eagles (5-8, 0-4) in the second half, as Giles outscored its visitors 30-18, to cruise to the 28-point win.
Kimberly Smith paced Auburn with 10 points.
Lyndsey Jackson led Giles with a game-high 43 points.
