Giles took the early lead and never looked back, as the Spartans claimed a 72-51 Three Rivers District girls' basketball win over Eastern Montgomery Tuesday night in Pearisburg.
The Spartans (7-11, 4-4 TRD), who held a slim 10-9 lead after the opening quarter, went on a 25-15 run in the second quarter to extend their advantage to 35-24 at the break. Giles continued to hold the upper-hand in the second half, claiming the 21-point win.
Afton Graham led East Mont (2-18, 0-9 TRD) with 13 points.
Lyndsey Jackson led Giles with a game-high 27 points and Megan Fisher contributed 16 points.
