Lyndsey Jackson scorched the nets for a game-high 45 points, as she helped lead Giles to a 73-65 Three Rivers District girls' basketball win over Auburn Thursday night in Riner.
The Spartans (8-11, 5-4 TRD), who ran out to a 43-28 halftime lead, saw the Eagles (7-12, 1-8 TRD) battle back in the third quarter to cut their deficit to, five, 54-49, heading into the pivotal fourth quarter. It was back and forth in the final quarter before Giles pulled away for the eight-point road win.
Jessalyn Monday led Auburn with 19 points. Kimberly Smith tossed in 11 points and Brooke Bostwick grabbed 20 rebounds and scored five points.
