Kayla DeHart scored a career-high 27 points, as she helped lead Glenvar to a 52-43 win over Chilhowie in the opening round of the Region C, Div. 2 girls' basketball tournament Wednesday night in Chilhowie.

Glenvar (20-5) takes on Floyd County at 6 p.m. Friday night in the semifinals at Radford High School.

The Warriors (18-6) took a 9-7 lead after the first quarter. The Highlanders went on a 16-4 run in the second quarter to take a 23-13 halftime lead.

Glenvar methidically pulled away in the third and fourth quarter, as they claimed the nine-point road win.

Danielle Catron led Chilhowie with 15 points.

Jessi Strom tossed in 12 points for Glenvar.
