Radford Boots Giles To First Loss

radford-logoIn a battle to the end, Radford handed visiting Giles its first loss of the season in Three Rivers District boys' soccer win Monday night.

Both teams were evenly matched with the Bobcats playing more possession ball and Giles playing with more speed.

Radford's William Minter scored first streaking into the box and catching a rebound shot in the 22nd minute. The half ended 1-0.

The Bobcats' Jay Cundiff picked up a penalty kick goal in the 51st minute after a foul in the box. Giles managed a few late runs but Radford’s defense held tough and the game ended 2-0.

 Giles' (7-1, 1-1 TRD) Jenson Doffin ended with nine saves.

 Radford (4-1-1, 2-0 TRD) keeper Andrew Lane finished with four saves.
