Radford netted two goals in the first half and added another in the second to down Northampton 3-0 in the second semifinal of the A Boys Soccer State Tournament at Radford University as part of the 2010 Spring Jubilee Friday afternoon.
Taka Masuda scored the first goal of the match in the second minute; assisting on the play was J. Clark, his first of two assists on the day. Caleb Smith and Michael Farmer added goals in the 5th minute and 45th minute, respectively.
Radford will be making its fourth-straight championship appearance when the Bobcats take the field at noon tomorrow at Radford University.
Waiting for the Bobcats in the final is none other than the team that beat them a year ago in the championship game—George Mason. The Mustangs secured their spot in the title game with a 7-0 victory over John Battle in the first semifinal.
Saturday's championship match features the state champions from the last three years—George Mason (2009) and Radford (2007, 2008).
