Caleb Findley nailed a 20-yard field goal as time expired, as Radford came from behind, to knock off visiting George Wythe 36-35 in non-district football action Friday night.
With three minutes left in the game, Keven Adkins galloped 63-yards to pull the Bobcats (2-0) to within two, 35-33. On the ensuing kickoff, Radford elected to go with an onside kick, which bounced off a George Wythe player and was recovered by an alert Hunter Griffitts. The Bobcats worked the ball down to the Maroons' 10-yard line to set up the last second heroics by Findley.
Radford, who led 20-14 at the half, saw George Wythe score 14 unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 28-21 lead, which led to the thrilling fourth quarter and ending.
George Wythe, who ran for 204 yards, was led by Hunter Tolley's 76 yards.
Radford, who rushed for 148 yards, was led by Kevin Adkins' 112 yards on 14 carries. Dontae Carter completed 11-of-17 passes for 166 yards.
