Radford went on a 13-4 run in the game’s final minutes, as the Bobcats pulled away for a 44-35 non-district boys basketball win Saturday afternoon in the 5th Annual Chance Harman Classic played at Floyd County High School.
The Bruins staked out to a 12-11 lead after the initial quarter and increased the advantage to 24-19 at the half. In a sluggish third quarter, the Bobcats outscored Blacksburg 5-4 to cut their deficit to four, 28-24. Radford would finally find its shooting touch in the final quarter. With the game tied 31-all with about five minutes remaining, the Bobcats would then close out the quarter with a 13-4 run to claim the hard-fought 44-35 victory.
Kaleb Bohrnstedt led Blacksburg with 10 points.
Freshman Nate Jones paced Radford with a game-high 12 points, all from 3-point land.
