Radford once again claimed the Three Rivers District boys' basketball regular season title, as the Bobcats took a 70-59 win over visiting Floyd County Friday night. For Radford, it was its seventh-straight crown. They will also get the top seed in the district tournament, plus an automatic berth into the Region C tournament.
The Buffaloes (17-4, 7-3 TRD), who led 13-9 after the initial quarter, saw the Bobcats (16-3, 9-0 TRD) answer back in the second quarter to tie the game at 28-28 at the half. Radford outscored Giles 23-13 in the third quarter to pull out to a 51-41 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. The Bobcats continued to maintain their lead in the final quarter, as they pulled away for the 11-point win and district crown in front of the Radford faithful.
Brandon Lemons led Giles with a game-high 17 points and Caleb Tanner chipped in with 16 points.
Jordan Alexander led Radford with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Dashon Devore tossed in 12 points, while Paul Parcell and Isaiah Phillips added 11 points apiece.
