Radford's Allen O'Berry was named the Defensive Player and Lineman of the Year, while Giles' Brad Kessinger and Jeff Williams were selected as the Offensive Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, on the 2011 All-Three Rivers District football team.

Both No. 1 Auburn, the regular season winner, and No. 2 Giles earned first round byes in the Three Rivers District volleyball tournament, which starts tonight at the higher seeds.

The Radford girls teams and the Floyd County boys claimed the Three Rivers Distrct team titles Wednesday at Giles High School in Pearisburg. Sarah Phillips of Floyd County and Walker Mogen of Radford won the individual crowns.

Radford's Zeke Shaffer fired a six-under-par 66 to claim the individual title, while Glenvar came away with the team crown at the Three Rivers District golf tournament held Wednesday at the par-72 Draper Valley Golf Club.

Giles took the top honors on the 2011 All-Three Rivers District Baseball Team, as Dylan Raymond was named the Player of the Year and Mike Williams was selected as the Coach of the Year.

Kat Mills and Amber Ingram of Floyd County were named the Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively. While Glenvar's Spike Harrison was selected Coach of the Year on the 2011 All-Three Rivers District Softball Team.

Lexi Denny of Radford was named the Player of the Year, while Floyd County's Liel Narrow received the Coach of the Year honors on the 2011 All-Three Rivers District Girls Soccer Team.
