The Radford girls teams and the Floyd County boys claimed the Three Rivers Distrct team titles Wednesday at Giles High School in Pearisburg. Sarah Phillips of Floyd County and Walker Mogen of Radford won the individual crowns.

Phillips completed the 3.0 mile course in a time of 20 minutes and 28 seconds, which was six seconds better than Radford's Kayla Crocker, who finished with a time of 20:34. Mogen took he boys individual crown with a time of 16:13, beating out Glenvar's James Kasper by 33 seconds (16:46).

Girls

The Bobcats placed six runners in the Top 15 to outlast second-place finisher Floyd County, 27-33.

Glenvar finished third with 77 points and Giles was fourth with 100. Auburn and Eastern Montgomery did not field complete teams.

Radford, Floyd County, Glenvar and Giles will advance to next weeks's Region tournament at the Southwest Virginia Training Center in Hillsville.

Boys

Despite the first place finish of Mogen, the Buffaloes edged the Bobcats 41-44 for the team title.

Giles was third with 66 points and Glenvar took fourth with 87 points.Auburn and Eastern Montgomery did not field complete teams.

Floyd County, Radford and Giles and Glenvar will advance to next weeks's Region tournament at the Southwest Virginia Training Center in Hillsville.
