Roanoke Valley Christian School held Dayspring Christian Academy to just four first-half points, as the Eagles claimed a 50-21 win in VACA girls' basketball action Friday night in Blacksburg.
The Eagles (5-1, 3-1) took a 16-2 lead in the opening quarter and increased their advantage to 30-4 ast the half. The Lions (1-4), behind a trio of 3-pointers from Dori Mock, outscored RVCA 13-10 in the third quarter, to cut their deficit to 40-17 heading into the final quarter. The Eagles would continue to pull away in the fourth, as they claimed the 50-21 victory.
Elizabeth Jones led Roanoke Valley Christian with 12 points. Bonne Powers had nine points and Sarah Anderson added six points.
Dori Mock led Dayspring Christian with 13 points, including four 3-pointers. Sara Winter pulled down 10 rebounds and tossed in two points.
