Andrew Lucas had the hot hand in this one, as he scored a game-high 35 points, including six 3-pointers, in helping lead Dayspring Christian Academy to a lopsided 70-40 non-district boy's basketball win over Giles Thursday night in Blacksburg.
The Lions (9-3) roared out to a 27-7 lead after the openng quarter, which saw Lucas knock down 25 of those points. By the half, Dayspring held a comfortable 38-15 advantage. The Lions continued to have their way in the second half, as they cruised the 30-point win in front of the home crowd.
John Shelor led Giles with nine points.
Zack Morrill added 14 points and Michael Ribbens pulled down10 rebounds for Dayspring.
