Andrew Lucas made history Tuesday night, as scored his 3,000th career-point to help lead Dayspring Christian Academy to a lopsided 90-46 non-district boys' basketball win over Surry County, NC Home School in Blacksburg.
The Lions, who saw Lucas hit the milestone in the first quarter with a three-pointer, took a commanding 50-24 lead at the half. Dayspring Christian continued to dominate in the second half, en route to the lopsided 44-point victory.
Lucas, who became the first player in Dayspring history, finished the night with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Ribbens and Joel Vest added 17 points each for Dayspring.
"This is something I dreamed of trying to get when I found out I had a chance," said Lucas after the game. "I feel very privileged to get this achievement."
