Shenanadoah Valley Christian raced out to an early lead and never looked back, as they cruised to a 63-53 win over Roanoke Valley Christian in the championship game of the VACA girls' tournament Saturday afternoon in Staunton.
Shenandoah Valley jumped out to a 38-17 halftime lead. The Eagles (22-6) slowly came back, outscoring Shenandoah 11-9 in the third quarter and 25-16 in the fourth quarter, to make the final score a little more respectable.
RVC was led by Hope Hasenbeck with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Elizabeth Jones and Amanda Puckett added 10 points apiece.
Allie Pieper led Shenandoah with a game-high 28 points.
