Franklin County jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, as they rolled to a 55-36 Western Valley District boys bsketball win over William Fleming Tuesday night in Rocky Mount.
The Eagles (11-6, 3-2 WVD) flew out to a 13-4 lead after the opening eight minutes and increased their advantage to 35-16 at the half. Both teams would score 20 points apiece in the second half. However, the Colonels (3-10, 0-5 WVD) were unable to overcome the early deficit, as Franklin County took the 55-36 victory.
Chris Whitfield led William Fleming with a game-high 16 points.
Daniel Hutson and Chris Tyree led Franklin County with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
