Franklin County used a strong second half to turn a one-point halftime deficit into a 75-63 non-district boys' basketball win in the opening day of the Northside Invitational Tournament Wednesday in Roanoke.
The Bruins took an 18-16 lead in the first quarter. The Eagles came back in the second quarter to pull to within one, 33-32, at the break. Franklin County outscored Blacksburg 20-11 in the third quarter to pull out to a 52-44 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Eagles continued to have the upper-hand in the final quarter, as they pulled away for the 12-point win.
Kaleb Bohrnstedt led Blacksburg with a game-high 25 points. Destiny Etuk added 19 points, including five 3-pointers.
Jalen Robertson led Franklin County with 22 points and Kyle Ellis tossed in 20 points.
