After a sluggish first quarter, Patrick Henry would get things rolling its way, as they cruised to a 57-33 win over Albemarle in the opening round of the Northwest Region boys basketball tournament Thursday night in Roanoke.
The Patriots (18-4) would take a slim 8-7 lead after the opening quarter and would outscore Albemarle 13-3 in the second stanza to head into the locker room at the half with a 21-10 advantage. Patrick Henry would continue to dominate in the third quarter, as they outscored their guests 20-13, to take a comfortable 41-23 lead into the final eight minutes of action. The Patriots would continue their march in the fourth quarter, as they advanced to the semifinals with the 57-33 victory.
Melvin Henderson led a balanced Patrick Henry scoring attack with 10 points.
