Patrick Henry used a balance scoring attack to claim a 51-27 victory over winless Blacksburg in non-district girls' basketball action Wednesday night in Blacksburg.
The Patriots (5-1) marched out to a 12-4 first quarter lead and increased their advantage to 18-13 at the half. Patrick Henry started putting this one out of reach in the third quarter, as they outscored the Bruins (0-7) 21-6 to extend its lead to 39-19 heading into the final quarter. The Patriots remained in control in the final quarter, pulling away for the 24-point road win.
Jewellanna Parfitt, Zayanah Stephens, and Shakeia Salters led Patrick Henry with 10 points each and Breana Millner added nine points and pulled down 20 rebounds.
Blacksburg, who turned the ball over 37 times, was led by Jordan Ballein with a game-high 11 points.
