Clutch free throw shooting down the stretch proved to be the difference in this one, as Patrick Henry claimed a 55-49 non-district girls' basketball win over William Byrd Saturday night in Vinton.
The Patriots (13-8), who led by one, 21-20, at the half, continued to methodically pull away in the second half, behind some clutch free throw shooting in the final minutes, to claim the six-point road win.
Shakeia Salters and Jasmine Keeling led Patrick Henry with 16 points apiece.
Alexis Ratliff paced Wm. Byrd (6-15) with a game-high 17 points and Kamera Hagins chipped in with 15 points.
