It took overtime to decide this one, as Patrick Henry earned a hard-fought 60-54 non-district boys' basketball win over Waynesboro in the Roy Stanley Memorial Shootout Saturday at the Salem Civic Center.
With the game tied at the half, 24-24, the Patriots (17-4) pulled out to a slim 40-37 advantage after three quarters of action. In the fourth quarter, the Little Giants (15-4) fought their way back to tie the game at 51-all at the end of regulation. In the OT period Patrick Henry went on a 9-3 run to claim the 60-54 victory.
Alex Graves led Waynesboro with 19 points.
Marcus Banks led Patrick Henry with a game-high 32 points, including five 3-pointers, and Austin Donithan added 13 points.
