In the Western Valley District girls tennis tournament being played at Franklin County Park Tuesday evening, all the matches in the quarterfinals and semifinals had gone to the higher seed. That finally changed, when Halifax's 4th seeded doubles team of Jessica Palmer and Blair Jeffries upset the #1 seeded doubles team from GW Danville, Betsy Ezell and Lindsay Harris.

The finals will be played this evening at 5 PM at Franklin County Park, weather permitting.

#1 seed Betsy Ezell, GW Danville, beat #4 seed Jessica Palmer, Halifax, 6-2, 6-1
 
#2 seed Allison Link, Patrick Henry, beat #3 seed Kristen Bowling, Franklin Co.., 6-3, 6-4
 
DOUBLES
 
#4 seed Jessica Palmer and Blair Jeffries, Halifax beat #1 seed Betsy Ezell and Lindsay Harris, GW Danville, 6-2, 6-4
 
#2 seed Kristen Bowling and Carrie Hughes, Franklin County, beat #3 seed Allison Link and Kim Russell, Patrick Henry, 6-0, 6-3.
 
In the finals, Ezell will play Link in singles and Bowling and Hughes will play Palmer and Jeffries in doubles.
