The rain held off for the Western Valley District Finals at Franklin County Park Wednesday evening.
 
In singles, #2 seed Allison Link, of Patrick Henry split the first two sets with two time reigning champion and #1 seed Betsy Ezell, from GW Danville, but Ezell came back in the third set with a win.  It was a very competitive and exciting match.
 
In doubles #2 seed, Kristen Bowling and Carrie Hughes from Franklin County, won in straight sets over #4 seed, Blair Jeffries and Jessica Palmer of Halifax, in straight sets.  Jeffries and Palmer had knocked off the #1 seed team in the semifinals the day before.

Betsy Ezell, GW Danville, beat Allison Link, Patrick Henry, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3
 
DOUBLES
 
Kristen Bowling and Carrie Hughes, Franklin Co., beat Blair Jeffries and Jessica Palmer, Halifax, 6-4, 6-1. 
 
All the finalists, winners and losesr will play on May 25th and 26th, in the Regional Singles and Doubles Championships in Charlottesville, Va at the University of Virginia.
