Amherst County picked up its first win of the season, while handing visiting William Fleming its 13th-straight loss, 9-0, Friday night.

The Lancers (1-1) got on the scoreboard in the third quarter on a 31-yard scamper by Thomas Sandridge.

A 23-yard field goal by Tyler Dawson in the fourth quarter secured the 9-0 victory.

Amherst County tallied 189 yards, all rushing.

Jonathan Hagans led the Colonels (0-2) with 70 yards on 17 carries.
