William Fleming used a balanced scoring attack, as the Colonels defeated Patrick Henry in the semifinals of the Western Valley District girls' basketball tournament Thursday night.
William Fleming (15-7) now meets Franklin County in the championship game on Monday.
With the score tied at 15-all after the opening quarter. The Colonels went on a 15-8 run in the second quarter and an 18-6 spurt in the third quarter to take a 48-29 lead into the final quarter. The Patriots (14-8) outscored William Fleming 20-11 in the fourth quarter. However, it wasn't enough, as the Colonels claimed the semifinal win by a 10-point margin.
Shakei Salters led Patrick Henry with 20 points and Zaynah Stephens added 14 points.
Ryjae Anderson led William Fleming with 15 points. Amyrah Harrell scored 14 points and Antavia Stevens tossed in 10 points.
